Yes, the selfie stick is here to stay, despite being banned from various public places and posing a potential health hazard. But the selfie world is set to change. Meet ROAM-e – a drone designed specifically for selfies.

It's purpose is to follow the user around to take either the perfect photo or to live stream the footage. The device has facial recognition, allowing it to follow you around. As a default it will not stray further than 25 meters away from you. It delivers a 360 degree shot and costs $349.

The drone can be synchronized to the user's smartphone, presumably being able to work with both Android and iOS. Its camera is equipped with a modest 5 MP sensor and ROAM-e can fly for 20 minutes on a 2-hour charge.

Director of iPhone Repairs and Spares, Phil Marlow said: "I think it' will definitley work, there's no reason why it wouldn't.

"It could be just a fad and although I've never personally used one I've seen how useful they can be. Some people set them up on a mountain bike and it follows you around. I've seen drones used at a party and you set the drone up and it hovers 10-15 meters away and they're really good quality"
